Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

It was nice to sleep in this morning and we didn’t get out of bed until close to 8:00.

We shared our coffee as I talked about maybe getting things together and leaving today instead of waiting until tomorrow. A quick check of the weather nixed any thoughts in that direction. Back in Hannibal it was raining and the forecast for the remainder of the day was not good. Here in Topeka, it began as a foggy, misty, morning and worked its way up to a steady rain as the temperature dropped to “chilly”.

I took the truck and fueled it for tomorrow. Now it is ready to go. Marilyn straightened up things inside the RV while I was gone and she was ready to go with me to fuel the car. She wanted to stop at Walmart to pick up some thread she needs for her cross-stitch project. She found only one of the four colors she wanted but we picked up a few other items before we drove back home.

It was raining pretty heavily by the time we arrived back at the RV. We turned the fireplace on and changed into dry, comfortable clothing for the afternoon.

We are meeting friends, Tom & Bernie, at a Mexican Restaurant this evening. It will be good to see them again. I am writing this journal entry earlier than normal so that it will be finished by the time we return from dinner.

The excellent BBQ place located right here at the RV Resort is open for lunch today and we were tempted but Marilyn insisted that we NOT eat out twice in the same day.

I know she is right and all that, but they have really good BBQ here and are only open from 11:30 to 1:30. Sigh….

No matter, because we’ll be back here next month. Maybe then…..

Oh yes, Life is Good!
