What a great day just rambling through Rome! Jan and Rick headed for Vatican City and Peggy and I headed for Piazza de Spagna. We each discovered great places and took some good pics! We haven't gone out to dinner yet, but I know it will be great! Peggy and I did the Piazza de Spagna - WAY lots of people - we were much happier wandering through the 3rd largest park in Rome, Borghese Gardens, and we only saw a tiny portion of it - very au natural! We also discovered the BEST pizza place - wine and pizza....we came home a bit over-wined and regaled Jan and Rick of a place we HAVE to take them to before we leave Rome. I'm also getting slightly addicted to looking out our apartment window people watching! It's soooo interesting. If I lived here I'd never get anything done, just hanging out the window people watching. Our weather had been just fabulous - sunny, warm, not too hot, not too cold, just right! I'll hate to leave Rome, but also am looking forward to Greece! ~ Lorraine

Rick and I set out for the Vatican today, but got sidetracked to Sant'Angelo's. Climbed so many stairs, I lost count but the view at the top was worth the effort. Gorgeous! By the time we made it to Vatican, too hot and lines too long. Took a hop on bus for city tour instead. Had fun with Rick just hanging out in Rome. Jan

Another good day of wandering around Rome with no specific destination in mind. We are enjoying having an apartment as opposed to hotel rooms because we have a kitchen and living room where we can hang out when we come back from our long walks. Our apartment is up two long, steep flights and then there are two lofts which each have a bedroom. I am in one of them. The stairs are like ladders and the lofts have low ceilings. I can stand up but anyone taller than me could not. The location could not be better. We are really right in the middle of almost everything in Rome.
