Dora the explorer on the role of women

The beach

Such a hotel, 4 stars no less. Sumptuous breakfast, I can get used to Brie and quince paste. As we were leaving for a look around town an Israeli family were booking a boat ride along the canals - 1 euro discount so off we went. Great talk, another way to look at the city. The Israelis spoke fondly of a Palm Sunday event they saw the day before. My surprised look brought the response: "Jesus was a good Jewish boy wasn't he?" The boat ride concluded, it was time to try a local delicacy. Egg and sugar in a pastry. A bit over the top. Chris thought a swim at the beach would be good so off we drove to the Atlantic. Not the right day for it. Rough and water temperature around 16 degrees so a beach walk instead. Lots of houses painted in vertical stripes to gawk at. Must have become a bit disoriented as the car did a Stephen's passport and we could not find it. Did the trick of walking along clicking the keys at anything that resembled our rental and finally found it. Often our airbnb's were out of town last year so staying at hotels that are central means we can wander the streets and see a different side of city life.
