That guy that blocked us in last night left early this morning. After checking the weather and seeing that the storm wasn't affecting most of the roads, we decided to make the final trek home. We took Hwy 287 up to Limon, and caught I-70 to I-25. We drove through a few snow showers, but with above freezing temps, the roads were just wet. It was 82 degrees in Kerrville yesterday, and 42 in Denver today. That's quite an adjustment!
Our friends who are still down there will be in my prayers tonight. Kerrville is under a tornado watch until 6am. If we were still down there, I would be awake all night watching radar. I've let them know to stay alert, but the campground doesn't have a storm shelter, so the only place they could hide is in the bathrooms or enclosed pavilions.
We made it home around 1pm today. Thanks for following along and putting up with my banter. I guess I will have some withdrawal issues now that I won't be blogging. I do so love to write!
We hope everyone has a terrific spring and summer! If we get to run away this summer, I will resume my posts.
