| I will post info later....just thought I would upload pictures with the remaining Internet minutes I have. Sandy This is Brigus.....lovely town. Hello from Brigus!!! Despite Kira's misadventures, we have loved Brigus and loved Nfld. I am catching on to "Newfie speak" and can almost understand them. The people have been so hospitable...so welcoming and they love to chat. They almost seem intuitive in noticing your confusion or trepidation and step right in to help you out and assist you. However I have been immediately chastised on two counts....Nfld is NOT pronounced like I say it....it is New Found LAND, with the accent on the last syllable - as they say----UnderSTAND New found LAND!!. Secondly, when I say it is great to see the Maritimes, I am quickly reminded that Nfld is NOT part of the Maritimes but an entity of its own. So now I stand corrected............. We have some great memories to cherish. Sandy and Bob...your recommendations for Salvage and Brigus were right on. They are fabulous small towns that take your breath away. Tomorrow we will be moving on to Gros Morne National Park (Western Nfld) which we understand is beautiful......we will go up to St. Anthony's to the Viking Village to see where some incredible history was made! I believe we will be out of both Internet and cell phone range so it may be a while before I can contact you again! Love to you all!! Lynn |
