The rest of the group got picked up at 9:30 this morning for the ride to the airport and Quito. Most will stay in Quito overnight and fly home Friday. We are staying an extra day.

After we said goodbye and they left, we walked down to the main drag for some final souvenir shopping and to look at the water again. By 10:30 or 11 it was too hot, so we came back to our air conditioned room for the middle of the day, and did some reading and packing.

Around 5 pm, we ventured out again in search of dinner, which we found on a street where there are many small vendors selling dinners to locals. I guess they close the street and move tables out into the streets later, but we were a little early. Larry had beef soup and fried beef strips and I had fish soup and a fried fish fillet; both came with white rice and beans that were more like lentils. I had a beer to drink and Larry had a blackberry batido (milkshake). The meals were $5 apiece and more than either of us could eat.

After dinner we wandered back to our room, stuffed and sleepy at 6 pm. Tomorrow morning we leave.
