A long drive day yesterday (12 hours) through agricultural country - fruit trees and veggies everywhere you looked. Motorway all the way so we stopped every couple of hours at service stations for a break. Had an interesting cappucino - coffee with whipped cream on top. Not what I was expecting, but not bad! Rain most of the way, some of it very heavy which could change our plans for the next few days (our climb up the volcano tomorrow is not happening because of the weather, fingers crossed I will get to do it on Thursday)

Today (Wednesday) we are exploring the town and chilling before a trip to the hot springs tonight. The hot springs turned out to be very hot and relaxing and we spent a happy hour there getting ourselves clean.

Thunderstorms predicted for Thursday, so the trip to Villaricca Volcano is definitely off unfortunately. A few of us decided to go for a hike in the Huerquehue National Park instead, in the rain, which was interesting and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. We started at 10 am and got back to the park entrance at 3.30pm, after being invited into a Chilean family's house for coffee - they must have taken pity on us as we were drenched! Then we had to wait for the 5 o'clock bus back to Pucon.

Tomorrow (Friday) we head into Argentina and the Argentina Lake District - first stop Bariloche for 3 days
