Departure time 1000? No way. We didn't get away until 1100. As much as we had packed last night, there ware still last minute things to do that delayed us. Late start meant no Dunkin Donuts. Since we had to stop at Flying J in Northeast to fill the propane tanks and top off the gas tank, I thought we'd be able to pick up some coffee and couple of breakfast sandwiches. I was surprised that they don't sell them after 1100, so we wound up with coffee and TasteeKake Danish.
Our route took today took us down I81 to Staunton, VA for an overnight stop at the Staunton/Walnut Hills KOA. We stopped here 2 or 3 times before in our travels. Ringo seems to have readily acclimated to Winnie and he staked out his usual places to perch as we travel. We're think he misses the old carpet and doesn't quite know what to make of the new floor, no grip when he tries to open a drawer or nothing to claw except the couch. At least he hasn't hidden under the dash.
As we were unpacking and getting settled in late this afternoon, we sat down on the couch and noticed that the cushions collapsed into the fold out bed. We couldn't figure out why they were collapsing, until noticed that the front piece of the couch looked like it was on upside down. I guess the guys who installed the floor decided they needed to unbolt it to cut away the carpet. When the put it back on, they put it back upside down. I was able to remove the 4 bolts and flip the front piece so you can sit down without falling into the foldout bed. Always good to have the right tools with you. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. Stay tuned.
