We had breakfast this morning then set off in search of a car wash. Although there had been more dust during the night, there was not an appreciable additional accumulation on the car, so we decided to remove the layer of fine sand that was on it.

We went to one which was not too far away and lined up with half a dozen other cars, all intent on the same purpose. The wash was slow, but thorough. A man sprayed the car with a pre soak wash and rinsed it off, then the car was driven through brushes and a dryer and finally another man hand dried it and collected the fee. We thought the 7 Euro charge was very reasonable and were happy with the result, even though it took almost an hour from we lined up till we were on our way.

We drove over to the freeway and on to where Sandy and Fiona have their place near Carvoeiro. The GPS took us directly to it and we parked and walked up to their place on the upper floor.

They were out on their balcony and we joined them, admiring the view. The apartment is quite spacious, with a separate kitchen and living room. They have a good view over the complex and a distant view of the sea.

We talked for a short while and heard about their trip to Granada and Cordoba, then Sandy drove us into Carvoeiro, parked the car and we walked back through the town to a restaurant near the beach where we continued to talk and enjoyed another good meal of fish.

After a prolonged lunch, we headed back to the car and drove up to the top of the nearby cliffs and had a short walk along a boardwalk, watching people descend and ascend a rough stone stairway to a rock formation with various eroded holes in it, some of which they were walking through.

We returned to the car and drove back to the Sandy & Fiona's place where we said goodbye and headed for home. Fiona reflected on the fact that we had seen more of each other in the few weeks in Portugal than we normally do in a year in Canada.

We arrived back in Olhos d'Agua and drove round to where our friends will be staying tomorrow night, just so that we would know exactly where to come if that is where we will meet them tomorrow.

We returned home and had a light meal before settling in to sort out photos, update the journal and do puzzles.

Tomorrow we hope to meet Maria & Paulo and decide what we will do while they are here.
