Singapore- City Tour & Raffles
11 Feb 2017
|Woke up at 5am ! Had a shower and headed for breakfast. Quite a choice !
We then got picked up for our City Tour. First stop was Merlion park. Unfortunately the Lion was covered by some scaffolding!
We then went to the Thian Hock King Temple, which is believed to be the oldest Buddhist- Taoist temple in Singapore. Chinatown was still decorated for Chinese New Year. Our next stop was the Botanic Gardens to walk through the National Orchid Garden which is a designated Unesco World Heritage site.
We then went to Little India.
Not a lot of time to change for our after r noon trip to Raffles Hotel.
We had a Bumboat cruise down the river passing a few buildings etc. Before getting off and walking to the bus, to take us to Raffles Hotel.
We were early, so we went to the Long Bar for a Singapore Sling. Very nice (mum liked it and expects our cocktail waitress to have them available when we get home!
Then went for our afternoon tea - very impressed! Best afternoon tea ever !
Returned to the hotel for a quick nap before venturing out to get some food & drink.
A good day, but exhausting.
