Hi it's Kira from Newfoundland,

Do you know how many moose there are in Newfoundland? Now I do! There are so many! Moose never used to be in Newfoundland. They were introduced by New Brunswick and someone brought them over and now they are out of control! There have been so many accidents between moose, cars and people! The records of the accidents are five hundred forty six accidents a year. WOW! How it happens is that the moose go onto the road and the cars hit them and the whole car roof will come off. Anyone in the back seat would probably die because of the antlers. Gulp! It is hunting season for the moose. All the hunters are here trying to kill the moose! Poor moose! A few days ago we almost ran over a caribou (Which at first we thought it was a moose and I kept thinking I'm gonna die I'm gonna die)! Luckily we did not run over the caribou/moose. Anyway did you know that Newfoundland has its own dog? Well it looks like the dog from the movie Beethoven but it's bigger and black! At a store we met two of them. One named Flossy the other named Moose. Flossy was a baby but still huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today we came to a little village called Salvage. It is a cute little fishing village. Salvage is one of the oldest settled places in North America because explorers landed on the east coast first! Salvage is not a tourist town but a little place where they fish and have a fishing plant about as small as a house. In Salvage we went for a hike to a lookout. It was really pretty! On the way up the hill to the lookout Shadow rolled in some barf/poo stuff! Now she smells to high heaven! Imagine how I feel in the back seat with her!!! I feel like I'm going to throw up!

From,

Kira*
