Zebras Drinking

Leopard in Tree

Canned Humans (everyone wants to see the leopard)

Pink Flamingo (tho not too much pink)

rior to this trip I the all the cats were going to be hard to find. While the leopard is very illusive, and the cheetah fairly hard to find, lions have been plentiful.

On the drive thru the Serengeti to the Sopa we see 3 more lions, a few hippos, a couple of far off cheetahs, and a very far off leopard (could only really be seen by binoculars). We also ran into the secretary bird again.

We arrived at the Serengeti Sopa in time for lunch. Another beautiful location & facility, but again it is one long road in & out, meaning we’ll be doing more backtracking to do this afternoon’s game drive.

The Internet is great here, and I get two days of blog pictures up in 1/2 hour.

Then it is time for a swim to cool down before the afternoon game drive.

The afternoon drive is full of elephants & giraffes. We also see a dwarf mongoose & a yellow billed stork. It was a pretty good couple of hours in spite of the backtracking.

They have an African themed dinner tonight (aren’t they all?), followed by many of the staff dressed in traditional garb singing, what else, African songs. The 150 people in the restaurant seem to enjoy themselves.

Tomorrow we leave Serengeti National Park for Ngorongoro Crater Game Reserve.
