last Tour of the Season
Oct 7, 2016
|With no viable internet service here in the campground, I went to work early so that I might use the “hard-wired” internet at the Gift Shop to post my blog entry for the past two days.
The school scheduled for three tours this morning, arrived early, so I finished posting the journal entries and was ready to take a group of 34 people on a tour of Mark Twain Cave.
The 20 young people on the tour were just great and we had a nice time.
As soon as the tour was completed, I hurried back home where I pulled on a sweater and we were ready to drive out to the Garth Mansion to visit friends, John & Julie.
We enjoy our time with these two friends every chance we have to get together. Julie fixed a nice lunch and we sat together as the conversation flowed easily. We spent some time talking to these friends about a possible visit to the Rio Grande Valley this coming winter.
We toured the mansion and then sat outdoors on the patio, content to be warmed by the sunshine.
We knew that our family was heading in to join us at the Campground as soon as school was out for the day, so we said so long to our friends, sharing hugs, and then drove back home.
Jennifer and the grandkids arrived not long after we arrived at the RV. We all visited indoors while the kiddies ate snacks prepared by Marilyn.
I asked Colby if he had his football with him and of course that was a “Yes”, so we went outdoors to toss the football around.
Somewhat later the ladies all came outdoors to sit on the patio, where Colby and I were taking a break.
Tomorrow we’ll join the family again, this time in Quincy, Illinois, for a football game.
