|Up early Denise cooked scambled eggs for breakfast, bags packed and we were ready to go. Stephanie, our landlord arrived just before we left to say goodbye, which was nice. She only works a few minutes away so was on her way to work. Down to the railway station, found our platform but had to queue up to go through security before we were allowed on the train. All good and we were soon on our way. The trip was only about 90minutes which was good and we arrived in Brussels to find a train was leaving for Brugge in a few minutes so off we went and managed to catch the train on time. We arrived in Brugge an hour later but because our apartment wasn't going to ready until 3pm we had lunch at the sation and then found the taxi stand and waited and waited until finally we got one. It was only a short ride to the apartment and as we had been given the codes to get in we didn't have to wait for anyone.
The apartment was huge, two bedrooms, two bathrooms with ours being massive. Lovely leather lounge and beautiful antiques all around, very happy. We settled in and then went for a walk around the market square which was only about 100 metres down the road. Every second shop is a chocolate shop which was very tempting. Our landlord had left us a booklet in the apartment which said not to eat In the square as the prices were a lot higher so we walked around the back street and found somewhere for dinner. Max had this huge bowl of mussels and I had garlic prawns which were both yummy. We walked the long way home to walk down tea and went to get some chocolate for dessert and they were all closed......maybe breakfast.
When we came back to the apartment Max walked into thekitchen to find the floor covered in water....opps! something is not quite right so I sent the owner a message...result....the plumber would be there tomorrow to fix it. Apparently it has happened before but with no mop or anything we had to use a towel. We have found a few little problems with this apartment but nothing we can't cope with. The apartment itself outweighs any problems.
