Bill and Mary Ann's truck camper retirement travel blog

The weather forecast says 0 percent chance of rain so we went back up the dirt road (Texas Flats) 5 miles and attempted our hike again. This time we made it and Bill got to see the ruin he was after and then hiked on and found a basket maker cave that still had cisterns in it. Someone had apparently looted the cave years ago as there were holes in it. I didn't go as far as he did because of heavy brush so I sat and waited. I did see 2 granaries across the canyon and a small one about 75 yards below us that still had logs on top of the stonewalls. We hiked back and then took the atv another couple of miles to the higher up overlook where you could see Arch canyon and lots of other canyons. Made it back safely through a couple more mud holes! May turn the corner and head home tomorrow.
