Mickelson Trail

Drive by of Sturgis

Spearfish Canyon was amazing. We drove through Sturgis and Deadwood to get to it. We had intended on stopping in one or both of the towns on our way back, but it didn't happen.

Spearfish Canyon is drive through, but there is also a trail that we were able to take the dogs on. Mollie got to get wet, and the fall colors were out.

Also we discovered and walk a part of the George S Mickelson Trail. This is such an amazing trail system. It has over 100 miles of converted railroad and runs from Edgemont to Deadwood (Rails to Trails). You can walk, ride bike or horse. No camping and no motorized vehicles.

I would love to come back and do more of the trail.
