To Maine and back travel blog

Charlotte....again...Today was the drive up to Pam's. I have many memories of BBQs in her and David's (her husband) backyard. They have a huge round stone table with a stone lazy susan in the middle. It's under a roof so if it sprinkles you can still sit out there. Off to the right is a beautiful small pond where a bear once sat, eating the fish they'd put in THAT was a story! Robin and his wife Sue came so it was a wonderful family time catching up while eating some absolutely delicious hor's doerves. David is a great cook and BBQer... try peach salsa, fresh grilled salmon with a dill yogurt sauce on crackers then on to grilled brisket, chicken, corn and two great salads -- grilled zucchini and tomatoes and cucumbers and sweet onions.

Robin had a terrible accident a few years ago when he got home from work, went outside to have smoke, tripped and fell on his forehead against a rock. He was crippled from his neck down but being the man he is Robin said he's not going to be a cripple. So what if they told him he'd never walk again. He was in the hospital about three months and he's got such a great personality that the nurses would come to visit him in his room on their breaks. He has a great sense of humor and is just a wonderful guy. Now he's in a wheel chair and can walk short distances and drive. His right arm is still partially paralyzed but that doesn't stop him from cracking jokes and giving me a hard time. Of course, I hand it right back to him. So the cuz time was great. Wayne and David had great conversations.
