Remnants of Ryan Ranch in Joshua Tree

Sep 18, 2016: We spent the morning in Joshua Tree NP with temperatures of near 100 degrees. A mile long hike through Hidden Valley where stolen cattle were hid and a mile trip to Ryan Ranch that has a few remnants left was enough walking for the day. From there we traveled old route 66 to Boulder City, NV, near Vegas and Hoover Dam. We plan on going to Hoover Dam tomorrow morning and then wash some of my dirty clothes in the afternoon. Traveling through the Mojave Desert we had temperatures of 106 degrees and there was a whole lot of nothing to see. They plow the roads here but it is sand and not snow. There were so many little one or two room houses that had been abandoned and falling down along the way.
