Ron & Elena's 2016 Travels travel blog

We feel a little sad to leave ...

... this great campsite.

We both agree that, all around, this is ...

... the best campsite we've ever found!

It has great views ...

We did a lot of our cooking over the campfire ...

That also serves as a lid for our Dutch oven.

We even have one cactus to remind us of the desert below.

Seems it can't figure out which way the branches should be growing.

The thickness of the branches indicates it must be very old.

The winds make it a gnarly tree.

(Ron Writing) After 12 days at this wonderful campsite it’s about time to move on down the road to the next adventure. We haven’t been updating the blog every day because we’ve just been “camping”. Just enjoying the serenity and beauty of this exceptional place. Except for a few walks we have been spending our time in our campsite. We’ve had a campfire almost every day and usually do some cooking over the fire.

Before we came up here we purchased a new Lodge Combo Cooker. It’s a 10” cast iron skillet and a 3.2 qt. Dutch oven. The bottom can be used as a large cooking pot or the skillet is designed to serve double duty as the lid of the big pot to make a Dutch oven. It’s been fun using it over the fire to do some different cooking.

Enjoy flipping through the many photos to see a little more of our campsite, the views, the flowers, animals, and the fun we’ve been having here.
