Us in Chetwynd at 10,000 kms

August 13th

The odometer clicked over 10,000 kms at Chetwynd as we left town! It has been nine weeks since we left home and we have seen so much on this trip…but it’s not quite over yet. From Chetwynd it was going to be an easy drive to the first provincial campground along the hwy but with the weekend being as nice as it was the campgrounds were full or close to full and we ended up driving to within 150 kms of Prince George and found a site at Whiskers Point Provincial Park. Lots of campers and children with bikes and scooters….Bowie barked his head off. We are clearly closer to civilization now and traffic on hwy 97 has picked up. Days are also shorter and nighttime comes closer to 9pm in the evening. The leaves on some of the trees have started to turn along the hwy. Fall is not far behind in the north.
