We traveled to Sedona, AZ, a very scenic and picturesque town set among the red cliffs and rocks of northern Arizona. We met our friends Linda and Darrel Guy, whom we met on our Canadian Maritime Caravan last summer. They live in Mesa, about 140 miles from here and have a summer home in Pine, about 70 miles. Pine is at higher altitude and it allows them to escape the heat of the southern Arizona summer.
We spent the day catching up and seeing some of the Sedona sights: picnic lunch in a park, a cliff-side chapel, and supper at a Mexican restaurant. Sedona is well known for the scenery around town, which is just beautiful. Jeep tours are numerous and extremely popular, some that go into the back country and some that don't even leave the pavement.
The cats are finally adjusting to Arizona time (mountain time without DST). Three hours difference from the east! Since we are here in Arizona for a week, we have reset all our clocks.
