We had an early morning flight on Ryanair from London Stansted so we decided to spend the night at a pub not too far from the airport. It was appropriately named The Jolly Brewer. We didn't have an alarm clock so the publican kindly set up and lent us her mobile phone for the night. Obviously she was a very trusting person or we look that innocent!
The airport was very crowded as it was the beginning of the summer school holidays, very chaotic and to add to all this after queuing up to go through security both our boarding pass bar codes would not scan. So we made our way to the assistance queue. This queue is for people who have paid extra to use their mobile phones to scan their bar codes or who have a disability. Once in another lady was there and she took us to the disabled people security check-in, which was great as there was only a handful of people here whereas the normal queues zigzagged for miles!
Once on the plane I sat next to a history teacher who lives in Bristol and teaches at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare. Apparently a 15 year old was stabbed after an argument over drugs and it was filmed on mobile phones in May this year, nice....
The flight to Tours, France was a short one hour and now we say Bon Jour and Merci.
