Sedona Adventure Jeep Tour
Jul 18, 2016
|Marilyn & I were looking forward to an adventure today, in the company of our friends, Eddie & Jan.
The plan was to drive down to Sedona and take a Jeep Adventure drive to Bear Wallow. We had no idea what to expect but were looking forward to some fun.
Marilyn & I were up early to share our usual morning coffee before getting busy with chores.
I went outdoors to dump the holding tanks, and then cleaned the truck by removing things from the back seat, washing the windows, and making things ready for the trip to Sedona.
We left at 9:00 for the drive through Oak Creek Canyon and enjoyed the scenery all the way into the beautiful Red Rock Country of Sedona.
It was 10:30 when we met our guide, named Charlie, and boarded the Jeep for our adventure.
The drive up the mountain on Schnebly Road had us laughing as we rocked from side to side, absorbing the jerking and the jolts of this rough, rock strewn path up a mountain.
I can’t begin to describe the jolting ride over rocks. I laughingly told Eddie that I should have taken a beating with a baseball bat and saved $50. The result was about the same.
It was indeed an adventure and lots of fun.
When we returned to Sedona we were ready for lunch and chose Mexican food at Oaxaca, a Mexican restaurant across the street from the Jeep place.
Our food was just ok but the welcome margarita was quite good.
It was a few minutes after 2:00 when we arrived back at the RV Park and it appeared that we were all ready for a nap, or at least some relaxing.
Tomorrow we will begin getting the RV ready for the road again.
