|We were up early to have coffee before getting the RV ready to move down the road a couple of miles to get four new tires put on.
They were exact replacements for the Michelins which were original equipment on our Mobile Suites.
Our plan was to leave our site at 7:30 for an 8:00 AM appointment and we were right on time. However, we arrived at 7:45 and the shop didn’t open until 8:00. No matter because we waited around until 8:00 when they unlocked the door and allowed us to pay for the new tires. After paying a measly $1422.00 they began the installation.
Marilyn & I walked across the parking lot to a McDonalds where we ate some breakfast. We walked back to our RV at 8:45 and they were just finishing torqueing the lug nuts per my directions.
We were back at our site and all set up again by 9:45.
Marilyn fixed some BLT sandwiches for lunch and then we relaxed with our books, enjoying the awesome weather which seems to be the norm out here.
I had worried a bit about our decision to drive all the way to Arizona to spend five weeks in the summer, but it turned out to be a good decision because Flagstaff, with an elevation of 7000’ has wonderful weather during the summer.
The only negative is that everyone within a 150 mile radius seems to want to be here to escape the heat.
Our friend Eddie, played golf today and returned around 3:00 in the afternoon.
I phoned my doctor back in Palmyra, MO, to ask about the low dose BP medicine I am taking. It seems to trigger fits of coughing and I sometimes feel weak and shaky when I rise from lying down or sitting. Now I must wait for a return call from the Doc.
Our time here is growing shorter. We plan to be in Albuquerque on the 22nd and 23rd, Santa Fe on the 24th & 25th, and finally, Raton Pass on the 26th, before arriving at Mountaindale in Colorado, where we will be getting into all sorts of mischief with our friends.
