Puzzle World 2

I am going to start today by saying...

Pa send us the birds & I will send you 2 boys in return..........

After a much needed sleepin this morning everyone woke up feeling much better, but definately a bit sore after our day skiing...

Quiet morning getting some washing done & working out what we are going to be doing for the next couple of days. Got details about a great Jet Boating trip here in Wanaka, which Mike, Liam & I were keen to do, however Connor was adament he was not going to do it. As they say allow 4 hours for the trip we thought this was a bit long to leave him 'home alone'...Mind you the lady at reception said she could find some chores for him to do while we were gone...Very tempting...(This was Connor's moment that we would rather forget today...)

Decided to go to Puzzle World. This is really cool, with lots of Optical Illisions & Rooms. The boys really loved the room on an angle. (Do you remember the TV show a couple of years ago 'Slide Show' where they angle the floor then celebrity's need to act out scenarios. This was what it was like) Very hard to stand still & you kept sliding back down the room. There was a chair that you sat in & appeared to slide uphill & a Pool Table where the balls rolled up the table...A guy in there made comment to his kids that this is what it feels like to be 18...

There were plenty more amazing things to see...Way to many things to mention on the blog, but we can tell you more & show you the rest of the photo's when we get home...

There is also a large Maze there. There are 4 different coloured towers in each corner of the maze. We managed to find our way to each of the towers, which was a fantastic effort (last time we were here Mike & I didn't manage to do this)

Grandma you are going to love this next bit....

While in the Maze we received a call back from the people at U-Fly. They said they had space to take all of us up later on today, so we are going flying this arvo. (This was Liam's bit to forget for the day, as he had now decided he didn't want to do this) Kids - who would have them...

When I say we are going flying I mean Connor & Liam are going to be flying the planes.....

Got out to the airfield & met Byron (Liam's pilot) & Alex (Connor's Pilot) Both were young guys, but very enthusastic & great with the boys. Showed them the ropes of how the plane works & the moving parts etc, before Mike jumped in with Connor & Alex & I got in with Liam & Byron...Here goes nothing...

Bryon showed Liam what to do, then Liam hit the throttle & we were airborne.

Byron & Alex were amazing. The boys were able to do quiet a bit of the flying on our hour long flight. We flew up to Mt Aspiring, saw snow capped mountains & Glaciers. The scenery was amazing - the lakes of Wanaka & the mountain ranges. At one stage we were flying about 80m above the Glacier. So close we could almost touch it...

As we had different planes we flew slighty different paths, but they did manage to fly side by side for a short period, so we could see each other...Pretty spectacular really...

After this Byron had a bit of fun with Liam & I. We did a couple of sharp turns, nose up & nose down flying, which had both negative & positive G Forces...Not sure I was too keen about these manouvers...

Back on the ground safely & the boys downloaded the video they had taken during the flights for the boys (via GoPro's in the plane) I am sure the boys will want to show these to you when we get home.

Well, that was enough excitement for one day, so Mike & I are now having a couple of drinks to settle our nerves...
