|At Shelby Montana we decided to come home to Canada. Bought another bottle of Platinum vodka and headed north. We stopped into Lethbridge and had lunch and stopped in Pincher Creek to stock up on produce. Lots of beautiful grain, canola and clover fields and so much land is used for corn and soy beans to add to our fuel. We decided to stop at the Frank slide area and there was a nice little community campground right along the highway that is pay by donation and it has the cleanest restrooms of any place on our whole trip. the next morning we found a few fossils from the top of the mountain that slid down and it used to be a seabed millions of years ago. David Suzuki told us about that happening. So our destination for Thursday was Fairmont hot springs and we arrived at noon ad were able to get into the hot pools 3 times, between dinner and lightning storms. It really is a busy tourist place, especially the day before Canada Day. The views from the campground are so fabulous. So the next stop was Golden and we helped them celebrate Canada Day with a pancake breakfast, car show and crazy motorcycle (Vibe bikes) demonstration. What a nice little town and the path along the river and the pedestrian bridge across the Kicking horse river is so lovely. As we neared Revelstoke we realized we were running low on beverages, namely milk and wine so we restocked and drove through a little rain storm to Salmon Arm. Called my cousin Hal and Trudy and got an invite for dinner and it was scrumptious. Seafood lasagna and salads. Climbed up the hill to the new house they are building and then back to the front lawn for a fire and waiting for the stars to come out. It was a late night and we finally hit the sack after 11pm. Had the best sleep ever and in the morning we went for a walk and then sat at the lake and also floated the dock out into the lake and just chatted and enjoyed the dragonflies and fish and the calmness of the water. Sure was quiet for a long weekend. So now we are at Daryl and Mandi's and it is her birthday so we are having dinner here and will camp in their driveway. A beautiful sunny day with beautiful people. Sophie is recovering from gallbladder surgery so we get to spent time with her too.
