Hi Everybody!
Well there are now two things which we have done this holiday and I think I will be hard pressed to do again... Sleeping in airports and now sleeping on buses! While the bus is heaps more comfy than a plane, it moves a heap more, especially when the driver has no idea! Apparently we missed some pretty spectacular scenery on the way down the coast.
At the finish of the ride however we did wake to an extremely pretty city called Arequipa. This town is the nicest city so far on our trip around Peru. All of the Peruvian cities have town squares, and Arequipa's is a gem. A few of us from the tour relaxed on one of the specsat on a balcony while having a coffee, before heading to the local monastary.
The rest of the day was spent chilling around the town (to recover from the bus trip!) before heading out for dinner. The manu, traditional Peruvian dishes... ie. Guinea Pig and Alpaca! While some were strong and went for the Guinea Pig, I couldn't bring myself to do it and settled for a bit of the Alpaca. Well to me it seemed to taste like... Chicken!! Well not really it was more like wallaby.
Other than the local dishes there was an extremely tidy Turkish place which served the meal of the trip to date. Well at least it was up there with the Argentinian steak! Gee reading this post I can really see that this has become the "GET IN MY BELLY" world tour!
Anyways best be off for some more local dishes!
Hope all is well, Yoshi and Min!
