Lake Gaston resort was one of those stops where it'd be easy to stay another week. But it was time to go and live upto a commitment we have. And that is, picking up our grand daughter for her turn with us for 5 weeks. Just as our long time readers will remember our grand sons Jordan and Kyle. Well, it is now Myleahs turn.
The easy drive north on I-95 to US Hwy 17 taking us to I-66 and eventually to Front Royal was all the way breezy. It was a text book RV'ing drive, on the road at 9 a.m. off the road by 3 p.m. and 250 miles or less. If you haven't been to this part of Virginia, we'd say you've missed something. This is the famed "Shenandoah Valley" sitting at the foot of the Blue Ridge and the Appalachians. Within 50 miles so many interesting things can be taken in, such as, 10 Civil War Battlefields, Patsy Cline Birth Place, Luray Zoo, Luray Cavern, Shenandoah Cavern, the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Trail and much more.
Long time readers will recall, several years ago with grandson Jordan, the night before he was to leave for his home, he caught THE BIGGEST bass. Since then, Grandma and Grandpa call this lake right behind our site, "Jordans Lake".
Well, on Monday we drive into Dulles IAP to collect Myleah. She's cute, energetic, very smart, so smart that she's in a special school for above average kids. Like the other guys we'll be making her a special travel journal of her own, so you'll be able to read about her touring in her words.
