|Drove from Thunder Bay on Wed June 15 to Kenora ON. Cool and rainy weather, through Fort Frances to Kenora. At times we were alone on the road to admire the northern terrain, lakes, woods and rock, even beaver lodges near the roadside on the lakes, amazing. Lake of the Woods is beautiful.
Thursday, June 16 we crossed into Manitoba - took 3 days to get out of Ontario! Crossed Manitoba in 6 1/2 hours, lots of construction.
Weather cloudy and cool until into Saskatchewan, windy and warmer.
No wildlife seen, but also no roadkill!.
Tonight we are in a small SK town, Indian Head, 70 km east of Regina. Will explore this little gem tomorrow on foot, as we will stay 2 nights.
Gas prices are consistently in the north @ $1.19 per litre, not as bad as expected but still not cheap at $0.40 cents per kilometre in the RV, you do the math at 4,000 km one way to Vancouver. Might be cheaper than airline fuel but priceless!
Will post pix next entry.
Saskatchewan does not do Daylight Savings, so as of tonight we are 2 hours behind ON.
