Hug chateau

Love a restored draw bridge. Lots of detail everywhere

How is this for a room heater?

Even a faithfully reproduced medieval garden, interesting research process explained

Love the detail

More rain predicted but the sun came out so why not a picnic? Up a steep winding road on top of a hill of course we found a well restored castle. We saw what it looked like and what has been done over 100 years ago to get it to its current state. Yes it is not 'original' but remember it is impressive anything is still here after all the pillaging and looting by both locals and invaders. Our guide book gave it one star and one hour. We at least doubled if not tripled that. It had a great feel about it. We saw lots of furniture in the rooms and canons on the battlements. The view was spectacular too. Again an interesting history as it changed both hands and countries over the centuries. I would like to show you a picture of it from a few kilometers away as it has a stunning presence from atop the mountain. But my friendly clouds say - not today.
