Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

For nearly ten years, Marilyn & I have thought of ourselves as “The Happy Wanderers”. Unfortunately, that is not always the way we travel. Too often we find ourselves with too few days to arrive at a destination.

This trip we did a bit better planning and spent two days in Topeka, making us able to visit good friends and also have a day of relaxation before getting back on the road.

Our stop in Oklahoma City also had a day of relaxation built in to the schedule. That was today! We sat together with our coffee, enjoying the beautiful weather, as people strolled by. Several stopped to chat for a moment before continuing on.

Marilyn decided to do some laundry, so I connected the sewer hose and left it connected for our showers before dumping the tanks and stowing the hose again.

I drove the truck a short distance to fuel the truck with diesel at a price of $2.19 per gallon.

Marilyn sat outdoors to read for a while as I worked with my book project and watched some TV.

Tomorrow we are moving west only to Elk City, which is only about three hours from where we are parked. We’ll stay overnight in Elk City at Rolling Retreats RV Sales and Service.

On Monday morning, Slade will replace one of our slide topper awnings and then we’ll be on the way to Amarillo, about three hours from Elk City. I like those short travel days!

Yep, Life is Good!
