Paula at Sequoyah State Park

Fort Gibson Lake

We arrived at Sequoyah State Park located between Wagoner and Tahlequah, OK yesterday.

The park is a boater's and fisherman's paradise. It has 19,000 surface acres of water and 225 miles of shoreline on Fort Gibson Lake. We just camped and hiked a little bit. We thought we were going to take a walk on a paved trail - but the pavement suddenly stopped and we ended up strolling on a wooded trail that was almost 2 miles long. I ended up with at least a dozen mosquito bites and brushed off that many ticks. Two ended up chewing me. I will be scratching for another couple of weeks. I do not know why I am so tasty to those insects and arachnids!?

Paula has cousins that live in Mounds and Sapulpa, both cities near Tulsa. So, we took the opportunity to see them while we were in the area. Nice visit, glad we stopped.
