Our hotel in Montbéliard. Built 1928

Look what I found in the hotel toilet!!!

A pleasant day of riding in very nice weather. One storm approached but only a few heavy drops fell as we sheltered in a convenient bus shelter. Nice green scenery as we rode along the valley floor with hills/limestone walls either side.

Via the EuroVelo 6 route

Beautiful. 23C. Except for one threatening thunderstorm which just missed us

Provided in last night's accommodation. Delicious fruit, homemade jams, ham, fruit juice

Rice galettes for me.

Morning tea

A stop in a little town along the way. Tea only for me

Picnic on a seat along the canal

At a local Italian style restaurant in Montbéliard. €21. Risotto with local smoked sausage, emmental cheese and apple pieces. Yummy! Plate of fresh veges and a couple of glasses of local red wine. For some reason every other restaurant we found was not open or not serving food tonight!!!

Hotel de France. €69 double. Right on the canal. Lovely old place with lots of character. Seriously in need of maintenance but still lots of character from it's era. 1928.

easy short ride in great weather

The character of the hotel

The 'bio' supermarket in Montbéliard which had a number of GF things is not seen before including some rye like GF bread.
