Spent the last couple of days at Cabopina beach. This beach is much better than where we have been going the last couple of days (although still no match for aussie beaches). It is just to the west of Cabopina Port. Where you first enter there are a couple of chiringuitos or beach bars where you can eat, and there are lots of beach chairs here. But you only need to walk a little further and it is much quieter. The sand is clean and the water is calm and clear. Also there are plenty of sand dunes behind the beach, and about the only part of the coast that is not urbanised.
Apparently about 50 percent of the population in Mijas is foreign, with about half of them from the UK. So the usual story of everyone looking for paradise, and then when they find it promptly ruin it. For most of the coastline there are buildings, many high rise right on the beach.
