Oldest Black Hills Town

Custer, South Dakota

AM Report: We have breakfast in the KOA Café. It is convenient.

We are on the bike early. Today is the windiest day of our stay. We head west to Jewell Cave National Monument. It is a fifteen minute ride.

We visited the monument many years ago. Today, we take the short tour. It is a good decision.

We only see one room of the cave. It is more of a ranger talk than a tour. It is very informative with time for questions. Jewell Cave is the third longest cave in the world.

PM Report: It is still very windy. We take the short ride into Custer.

Custer is the oldest town in the Black Hills. We fill the bike’s gas tank. We find the grocery store. We walk a little and check out a souvenir shop.

Tomorrow, it will be a little less windy. We plan to revisit Crazy Horse.
