Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn & I were still sitting outdoors with our coffee when Jennifer drove up. She and Marilyn had a big day planned, shopping in Columbia, MO.

Jennifer took time enough to visit for a while and then my lovely ladies left in Marilyn’s car.

I showered and put on clean clothing. I then drove the truck up to the Gift Shop where I visited with several of the staff.

I then drove off to fill the truck with diesel fuel and headed off to Palmyra, where I was meeting with my son-in-law, Steve and the grandkids. I picked up a few snacks and staple supplies at the grocery store in Palmyra and then drove to the parking lot at the High School.

Steve arrived and the grandkids transferred to my truck. We waved so long to Steve and headed back to Hannibal where we stopped at the Burger King for a quick lunch.

After lunch the kids wanted me to go by the theater to see what movies were playing. “Angry Birds” was the choice but I didn’t think it was a very good movie. Some pretty gross stuff which didn’t seem appropriate for young children.

After the movie we drove home and played outdoors, tossing the football around and pushing Lauren on the swing.

Friends from Illinois stopped by with their three kids and we sat outdoors for some time just visiting.

It was around 6:00 by the time I fed dinner to the grandkids. They wanted dessert so the “cookies & cream” ice cream filled the bill on that. It wasn’t long after dinner that Marilyn and Jennifer arrived. Marilyn & I were left alone when they all headed home.

We sat down to watch some TV and hope for a good night of sleep.
