|We departed New Orleans this morning under sunny skies and very warm temperatures. Our destination today was Shreveport Louisiana, about 345 miles, where we are staying at the Shreveport Bossier KOA for 1 night. We had good weather for our trip and the traffic was moderate except for the usual craziness around the cities, and the occasional clowns (not my usual description for them) cutting in front of us. We took I-10 West from New Orleans to I-49 North, then LA-3132 West to Shreveport. I-10 was fine until about 15 miles east of I-49 when it became very rough, with uneven and wavy concrete that appeared to be the original roadway. A good portion of I-49 was repaved but there were occasional stretches of old uneven concrete as well. (I think some of these roads might have been around during the Louisiana Purchase). Tomorrow we continue West to Sunset Texas for another 1 nighter.
