South America 2016 travel blog

After a nice night of sleep I am up early working on my blog getting it almost up to date a bit of breakfast and finish packing up my bags we are off on a local bus to Potosi, this trips takes about four hours, to our hotel we get checked in and then a walk about the town with a stop for lunch, then more exploring the city. Potosi is about 4000m and was founded in 1545 and was a huge silver mining town it was the largest and wealthiest city in the Americas, bankrolling the Spanish empire, It was one of the 8 cities in South America where a mint was setup making coins for Spain. After lunch I made a trip to the cathedral climbing the steps to the top of the bell tower getting a nice view of the city, more walking around the area back to hotel a bit of down time before meeting the rest of the group for dinner and to sing Happy Birthday to Silas, a walk to the main square for some night pictures back to hotel and bed, calling it a day
