Seven Falls

Today was a fun day, with a trip to Seven Falls. It is seven different waterfalls coming from the same source, 14 stories high.

We were able to park at a parking lot in the city and take a free shuttle to and from the falls. After paying our admission fee, we walked up a mile long uphill road. There was tram, but we footed it. There were 224 stairs to the top of the falls. I thought it would be alot harder. We did get more easily winded due to the high altitude of about 6800 feet. The falls were absolutely gorgeous as you'll see in the pictures. There was an Eagle's Nest lookout nearby, and we took the elevator that was in the mountain instead of climbing another 189 stairs. It reminded me of the Whiteface Mountain elevator. It was a real short ride up. From there, you could see the whole falls. While at Seven Falls, we were up high, yet the mountains towers above us. It was so beautiful.

We had planned to go to the Garden of the Gods Park, where there were hiking trails, but there was a thunderstorm coming. It never came, but by the time we had hooked up the RV again, we decided to stay here and do laundry and go for walks.

On the news tonight we saw tornado warnings in northern Colorado and Kansas. Im glad we missed that. We also saw a tiny bit of very small hail for a moment. By the time I got the camera out, you could barely see it.

Stay tuned for Cog Railroad up Pike's Peak tomorrow.
