Today I had to be at the cave in time for a 9:00 AM tour. Several school busses from Quincy, Illinois arrived a few minutes after the tour was set to begin. The students were divided into three groups of 36 to 38 students in each group and the tours began. My tours went ok and I was off work and headed home by 12:00 noon.
I joined Marilyn for some lunch and then changed into casual clothing, ready for the grandkids to come in for a visit.
Jennifer and the grandkids arrived with the kids waving as the car came to a stop. Colby climbed out of the car with a smile on his face and a football in his hands. He was ready to play!
Lauren wore an even bigger smile and was ready for whatever happens.
I played football with Colby and then rested for a while. Colby soon announced that my 10 minute break was over and it was time to go shoot some hoops. Today it was my turn to win the game of HORSE.
Next on the agenda for the kids was the playground, which occupied our time until it was time to go home.
Then the kids began the usual “I’m hungry” and “I’m thirsty” in an effort to delay their departure.
Marilyn gave each of the kids some crackers, a brownie, and some flavored water.
Once our company left for home, Marilyn & I drove to the Taco Bell for some fast food. We brought the food home and then ate our tacos and burritos while watching some TV.
I want to thank all of you dear readers who sent messages and emails to express your kind thoughts on this sad anniversary for us. Our beloved daughter, Kelly, now waits in heaven for us to all be together again. That will happen soon enough, but for now, Life is Good!
