Jimmy Buffets ORIGINAL Margaritaville

On Monday we went to Key West. We started with a fantastic breakfast at the Blue Heaven Café. This place was highly recommended and we can see why! Mostly outdoors, its a garden of eclectic art and décor, complete with free range cats and chickens! From there we toured around on the trolley for awhile learning about the history and celebrity of Key West. For instance, we learned that Earnest Hemmingway and Jimmy Buffet weren't the only famous people to have homes here. Kenney Chesney, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmy Johnson (coach), all have homes here. Also several of our presidents have vacationed here. (I cant even remember the long, long list of celebrities). Key West is also home to the most decorated US Coast Guard Ship, the USCGC Ingham, which is now retired and hosts public tours. We stood on the southernmost point of the US, visited the southernmost store, and even bought some street art form the southernmost artist. We ended up on Duval Street where we shopped and visited a few of the 67 or so bars that exist on that 1 1/4 mile street, ending up at the original Margaritaville in honor of Jimmy Buffet. We had a great time. Headed back to cool off in the pool and then enjoyed a wonderful ribeye dinner, compliments of Dave and Linda (the good stuff from Luke and Suzy's place.
