I awoke to the sound of thunder at 2:30 in the morning. For the next couple of hours I remained awake. Thunder, Lightning, and rain remained steady, but I did manage to go back to sleep for an hour or two before we decided to get up and have our morning coffee.
With the rain letting up some, Marilyn & I walked over to the office/gift shop/lounge/cafeteria, for some breakfast. Marilyn had an egg, bacon, hash browns, toast and juice, while I enjoyed biscuits with sausage gravy.
We left the Checotah KOA right at 9:30 this morning and arrived at the Coachlight RV Park in Carthage at 1:15. That three hours and 45 minutes of travel included a lengthy stop at Big Cabin for a rest room stop and to top off the fuel in the truck.
Once we were set up, we drove to the Sirloin Stockade in Carthage for a late lunch and enjoyed a very tasty meal.
By 3:00 PM we were back inside the RV watching some news on TV and relaxing.
We are happy to be back in Missouri for a while.
We are supposed to have 12 or more hours of rain and thunderstorm activity beginning around 8:00 PM today. As long as there is no hail or tornadoes, we are fine.
We have a few issues with the RV which we will need to have fixed when we leave Hannibal. Nothing serious at all, but those pesky little things are a bit annoying. I would like to have everything fixed when we head off to Flagstaff, Arizona.
When your home rolls down the road for thousands of miles, it gets pounded quite a bit. Sort of like being in a constant earthquake while we are traveling. This is true, especially when we are rolling down the roads in Oklahoma. LOL
In any case, that’s the way things are right now. Remember dear readers, Life is Good!
