Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn & I anticipated sharing our coffee outdoors this morning, but when we awoke, it was really foggy out there.

We finished our coffee indoors and then drove to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We enjoyed a nice breakfast and then drove to a well-known hardware store called Gibson’s.

I found the door latch I needed and also picked up several new water hoses. I like to replace our water hoses each year so now I will have the new ones on hand.

I fueled the truck with diesel at a price of $1.99 per gallon and then we drove back to the RV.

I worked outdoors for a while replacing the broken latch and then walked down the street to say hello to a couple of long-time friends, Mike & Leslie.

Mike and I sat outdoors visiting for a while and hope to get together tomorrow.

When I walked back to our RV, Marilyn was chatting with our neighbor, a nice guy named Bob, who along with his wife, Chris, worked at Bentsen Palms Village, right next door to Retama in Mission. They know Steve & Cathy, Bob & Janet, Jesse & Ginger, and Scott & Annie, all of whom are friends of ours also.

Marilyn & I sat outdoors with our books, reading and sometimes resting our eyes as we reclined in our lounge chairs.

We thought about going out to eat this evening but decided to just stay home. We feel a need to relax before getting back on the road again.

Oh, I should mention the book project to let you know how that is going. Twenty Chapters are now complete and Mike has Chapter 21 and 22 to edit. I have to say that I am extremely fortunate to have a friend, who is also filled with expertise in the English language, but also happens to be a fellow pilot with a career similar in many areas to mine, and who is also a writer.

Thanks, Mike for all the hard work you are doing.
