This is the view out the back window on Lake Tawakoni

Coming in to Lake Tawakoni we noticed some of the streams and rivers were high. So when we were driving on F.M. 47 to the lake we passed in front of the dam. Wow! They had all the spillways open and spewing out huge amounts of water. Later we learned that this lake, part of the Sabine River drainage is a full 2 feet above it's normal levels. This, after being flooded 10 days ago when hit by 18 inches of rain in two days. And the RV park is still suffering but open on a limited basis. They aren't taking reservations and part of the park is still closed due to flooding. Yes, we were lucky to get in here, VERY LUCKY !

Three of us aren't feeling well, so we are staying here for a three night respite. And darn if the bass in the lake aren't jumping and carrying on just begging Dave to come out try and catch them! ! ! We leave on Monday and may make a fast and sprinting run for Pointes West Army Resort.
