We headed out on Hwy 87 to Hwy 35 to Hwy 6 to I-45 into Galveston. Another of our favorite cities to visit. We stayed at the Sandpiper RV Park on the gulf. From here it is just down the road to go watch all the large ships come in and out of the port of Galveston. We went and did this several times. We took a drive through the Historic downtown of Galveston with many restored old buildings and shops. Love the architecture of this city. Eating shrimp is our main goal in this city and there is a place called The Spot, on the seawall, that is excellent. Eating gulf shrimp while watching the waves on the beach is definitely a must in this town. Another day found us eating at Shrimp n Stuff, which is located in one of the local neighborhoods. Oh so good! Only thing wrong in this town was all the road construction everywhere we went. We rounded out our stay with many long walks on the beach. Of course our trip wouldn't be complete without a trip to our favorite fresh fish market in Jamaica Beach. We loaded up with fresh shrimp for the trip home. Delightful, relaxing stay.
