We finished off the coffee, completed a couple of chores to make the RV look all neat and clean inside, then took our showers and dressed for the day.
We walked to a Resort sponsored meeting at the Clubhouse and were introduced as new owners here at Retama.
After the meeting I participated in the voting for new members of the Finance group, before walking home.
Marilyn & I were ready to go when Mike & Marian drove up.
We jumped in and joined our friends for the drive to Bentsen Palms Village to pick up Eddie & Jan.
We then headed east toward Harlingen and the home of Chuck & Coletta. We were stopped short by a huge traffic jam on the expressway. It took about 45 minutes just to get past the Hwy 281 exits.
We chatted all the way and enjoyed the ride in spite of the frustrating traffic situation, and were greeted by the smiling faces of Chuck & Coletta.
After exchanging hugs with these good friends, we enjoyed snacks and a “shot party” where we each were served a shot of tequila with some salt and a slice of lime.
Down the shot of tequila, lick the salt, and bite the slice of lime, was the way we performed this fun ritual.
We talked and laughed as we dived into the spirit of the tequila shot event, and then watched as Chuck made some delicious BBC’s. He explained that a BBC is made with Bailey’s Irish Cream, Banana, and Colada.
These were awesome but one each was enough. It would be easy to overdo these tasty and refreshing drinks. LOL
We then drove to a familiar restaurant called the Texas Cattle Company BBQ and Steak House, located south of Harlingen on the road to San Benito.
The food was good and the company was even better.
Let’s just say that a good time was had by all.
Thanks Chuck & Coletta for being such wonderful hosts, and to Mike & Marian for driving. With those good friends along with Eddie & Jan, It sure was nice to spend time with all of you.
Life is Good!
