Snow covered Mt. Hermon

Church of the Transfiguration

Another view of the Jezerel Valley

Woke up to another bright sunny day on the lake. It was clear enough to see Mt. Hermon, Israel's tallest mountain at 9000 ft. Lake Galilee is basically undeveloped except for Tiberius, which is not a very interesting town. I imagine the rest of the lake looks pretty similar as it was in the time of Jesus.

The Galilee region is one of the prettiest I've seen; rolling mountains surround broad and fertile valleys. Simply stunning views.

Arising above the Jezerel Valley is Mount Tabor, an 1900 ft hill in the middle of flat farmland. At the summit is The Church of the Transfiguration. Many believe this is the site of Jesus's transfiguration with Moses and Elijah. Spent some time in the church, had mass in a side chapel and took more pics of the valley.

There are several other bible stories about Tabor, including war victories by the prophetess Deborah.
