The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

Interesting bridges.

Yet another. These seem to be the highest points in the area.

Lots of bays and channels to cross down here.

Going up.

Our campsite at Baton Rouge KOA.

Except for our campground and the church property next door. Every thing...

We planned on going to New Orleans after Galveston until we realized it was Mardi Gras time.

To give you an idea why we wanted to pass on that, we spent 2hrs on I-10 the last 16 miles to our campground into Baton Rouge, 60 miles from New Orleans. One of our fellow RVer's here in the campground came from the south. They saw floats heading to New Orleans and experienced the same traffic nightmare.

They also have a Parade here in Baton Rouge known as the Spanish Town Parade. We watched it on TV.

We will try to hit New Orleans on our way home. We just want to walk down Bourbon Street and possibly have an adult beverage and maybe hear some Jazz. Not interested in being part of a large mob of people. Guess we are showing our age.
