Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

The wind blew hard all night last night. I slept poorly, but headed to the shower at 6:00 this morning in the hope that it would help me wake up.

The outdoor temperature was in the middle 70’s as we all headed to San Juan for Mass at the Basilica. By the time we walked out of the Basilica, the temperature had fallen to 60 and the next time we glanced at the thermometer, it was down in the 50’s.

We were off to the Don Wes flea market near Donna.

After a brief shopping trip and some kettle corn, we showed Jennifer around and stopped at Whataburger for lunch.

Later in the day, Jennifer left for some alone time while Marilyn & I entertained the grandkids.

Marilyn made a batch of “Peanut Butter Goodies” and the kids played all sorts of games about hiding and trying to find a Rubik’s Cube.

The temperature fell to 52 degrees by 5:00 in the evening and it was nice not to run the A/C unit for a while.

After dinner we left again, this time headed to the small town of Hidalgo to see the Christmas Light Display. This small town just south of Pharr, hosts a wonderful display called “Three Miles of Lights” every year. It is one of those really nice things which seem to happen around Christmas and people drive from miles around to see this display.

Yep, Life is Good!
