Holiday Express on the Wilmington & Western Railroad

Holiday Express leaving the station

Sue and I participated in the Wreaths Across America event today. We visited BG William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in New Jersey where Sue's Dad is buried. We joined several hundred volunteers from the Civil Air Patrol, Boy Scouts, Military, Veterans, and others and placed wreaths on many of the graves. Wreaths Across America is an organization that has taken ownership for placing wreaths on the graves of veterans across the US, but especially at Arlington National Cemetery. This year they placed a wreath on every grave at ANC, over 200,000. All wreaths are paid for by donations to Wreaths Across America. Their mission, Remember, Honor, Teach, is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on one Saturday in December at Arlington and at veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and overseas. - See more at: Wreaths Across America. We'll be making this a regular December event.

On the way home from NJ, we passed the Wilmington & Western Railroad station and noticed the Holiday Express was getting ready to leave so I stopped for a couple of pictures.
